Carolyn Bradley-Guidry, DrPH, PA-C, BSN, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the UT Southwestern School of Health Professions. She is a trailblazer as the first African American faculty member to join the Department of Physician Assistant Studies in 2010. Bradley-Guidry’s leadership in the area of diversity and inclusion proved instrumental when the Department of Physician Assistant Studies received the national Diversity Through Excellence Award from the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) in 2017. Her primary area of research is in healthcare workforce diversity and health equity. Dr. Bradley-Guidry is the 2019-2020 recipient of the PAEA Faculty Generated Research Grant, which provided $50,000 for the project What’s Working? A National Assessment of Best Practices in Diversifying the Physician Assistant Workforce. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 30 years, her three beautiful daughters, two of which are members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc., and her only grandson.
